We are a crafty, thrifty family here at Castle Nicholls.

And we are also into creating personal gifts that people can really feel has thought, care and love in it, that’s great for Mother Nature and the recipient, is organic and no-tox.

As we deepen our use of certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils, we have been creating stunning presents that our friends and family love and that we know yours will too this Christmas (or Birthdays, etc).

Handmade Christmas Gifts made using essential oils.

It’s not our jobs to tell others what they ‘should’ be doing with their health. I know I’ve done that in the past and I know others that have done it too and it goes down like a tonne of bricks. Not good! But what we can do, is share gifts that inspire people and create a ripple effect of ideas and wellbeing that is then passed on.

Here’s our list of Christmas gift ideas made using certified pure therapeutic grade essential oils and a whole lotta’ LOVE.

1. Goddess Lipbalm

INGREDIENTS

  • 20 grams of organic beeswax (you can purchase this from eBay)
  • 30 grams of organic coconut oil
  • 4 drops in total of one or more essential oils for aroma (I love lemongrass, grapefruit, lemon, tea-tree, peppermint or wild orange)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Take a bowl and melt the wax. Wax should be melted on steam (do not use microwave as it is dangerous).
  2. Mix melted hot wax very well and add base oil (it can be one type of oil or even mix of base oils).
  3. Mix everything again and take bowl off the steam.
  4. Add drops of essential oil/s.
  5. Immediately spread balm into jars or tins. (you can purchase these off eBay)

2. Chakra Face and Body Mist

I simply get a 50ml atomiser bottle (Pack My Product or AromaTools Australia or AromaTools do great deals), and then fill nearly to the top with filtered water (no chemical/treated water ploise).

Then add up to 10 drops of pure, therapeutic grade essential oil to the bottle based on the oils that are aligned with the energy chakras of the body.

I tend to check the chart or my chakra and oils encyclopedia, then see what I have in my ‘oils kitbag’ and blend a balanced face and body mist that supports the energy in that chakra. Whether to harness positive energy, or release that which does not serve me.

Make sure to shake well before use and you have a wonderful personally supportive, therapeutic and organic face and body mist, or create gifts for those around you like I love to do. They are divine, low-cost, high-value and thoughtful pressies.

You can download your PDF version of a chakra chart here.

3. Hush Little Baby Roller

Safe dilution for babies over one is 1 drop of essential oil per 10ml. Please do not stray from this. For older children, it is 3 drops of essential oil per 10ml of carrier oil.

Within the 20ml roller bottles there’s 4 half-drops of certified pure, therapeutic grade essential oils, mixed with fractionated coconut oil.  We wait for the drop to form on the side of the bottle and then ‘clip’ it off as it falls into the roller bottle.

Mamma’s can roll these under their little angels feet or along their spines before bed or during any tanty-times.

I recommend using these once a baby is over one year old and always patch test first. These oils used are all recommended safe for babies and toddlers.

‘Hush Little Baby Blend’ is: vetiver, clary sage, frankincense + wild orange.  (we made 20m of this blend and then split it between four 5ml rollers)

‘Mamma Needs Her Sleep’: lavender, frankincense, geranium and Ylang Ylang.

Such a good little idea for a gift that is natural, organic + has a darn good purpose (did anybody say ‘sedative’?).

Add a little label (we cut some flannelette fabric and glued on ours), gift with a little toy or decoration.

4. Magnesium Detox Bath Salts with chamomile flowers

Epsom Salts Recipe for Baths –

Makes 1 cup so double/triple etc for gift making.

  • 1 cup Epsom Salts
  • 2 drops of Frankincense essential oil
  • 2 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops of Clary Sage essential oil
  • 1 tbs dried flowers. Please use organic. We source ours from The Source Bulk Foods.

*Rule of thumb: 1 cup of Epsom Salts to every 6 drops of essential oils.

We recommend using ¼ cup at a time in your bath and storing the mixture in a glass jar. You can reuse a jar from your kitchen, ensuring that you give it a thorough clean first 😉

Why glass and not plastic?

Plastic can damage the integrity of essential oils and with all the goodness going into every jar, you don’t won’t to destroy it with plastic.

8. Anti-Ageing or Skin Smoothing, face and body oil.

I like to get wonderfully ‘Woo Woo’ with the organic anti-ageing or skin smoothing (which-ever you’d like to call them as they have compounds and properties that are both) oils. I place my carrier oils in the sun for one month, shaking each day. They have dried organic rose petals in them that I purchase from The Source Bulkfoods, and also rose quartz crystals.

My carrier oils are purchased from a health food store, like the Melrose brand apricot kernel, sweet almond oil or jojoba oil or the Mcadamia Nut Oil from The Source Bulkfoods.

The sun solar charges the oil, the crystals ‘crystal charge’ the oil… and then to top that off, I place the jar out in the moonlight of the full-moon of that month and Luna charge it too!

Of course, you don’t have to do any of that. You can simply use an organic carrier oil and add the skin smoothing, anti-ageing essential oils I have listed below and create the most magnificent blend for your friends or family.

OR, consider creating a ‘Chakra Oil’ blend for your peeps, following the recommended oils in this chakra chart. Download your PDF version of a chakra chart here.

How wonderful right?

For each 50ml of carrier oil, I use 20 drops of pure essential oil.

Anti-ageing oils and skin smoothing oils I use are:

  • Lavender
  • Geranium
  • Frankincense

I simply get a 50ml  bottle (Pack My Product or AromaTools Australia or AromaTools do great deals), and then fill nearly to the top with my charged oils, and top with the essential oils listed above.

BONUS IDEA: If giving a teddy bear to a Mamma or child, gift a bottle of lavender with it. Drip some lavender on the teddy before bed and the child will sleep peacefully amidst the organic aroma of blissful lavender.
